Temporary Unavailability of Hot Water: Sunday 29 September 2024
Due to essential works to replace hot water pipes, hot water will be unavailable throughout the main atrium block at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, including the Children’s Centre, from 7:30am to 9pm on Sunday 29 September.
This essential work has been scheduled for a Sunday to ensure that the minimum number of people are affected in terms of scheduled appointments; however, we understand that as a 24/7 service, some areas will be impacted.
- Waterless wipes will be provided during this period for patients who need them.
- Hot water will be running as usual in toilet facilities in other areas of the hospital, such as the Tower Block.
- Washing your hands is one of the easiest ways to protect yourself and others from illnesses such as food poisoning and viruses such as flu and coronavirus (COVID-19). It is particularly important when visiting healthcare facilities like hospitals. Cold water can be as effective as warm water, but we understand that this can be less comfortable.
- Cold water and toilet facilities are not affected.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience while we complete this essential work.
If you have any concerns, please speak to a member of staff on the ward or unit you are attending.
