World Breastfeeding Week 2024

1 Aug 2024, 9 a.m.

In World Breastfeeding Week, we have lots of useful information on our website to support parents to give their baby the best start in life.

World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated every year from 1 - 7 August and aims to raise awareness of the health and wellbeing outcomes of breastfeeding. It also outlines the importance of supporting mothers to breastfeed for as long as they wish.

This year’s theme will focus on survival, health and wellbeing. It will showcase the need to improve breastfeeding support to reduce inequalities that exist in our society with a special focus on breastfeeding in times of emergencies and crises.

Breastfeeding is a skill that takes time to get the hang of. Lots of mums wonder if their baby's feeding well and getting enough – especially in the first few days.
