Viral transport swab

Description

  • Viral swabCheck expiry date on swab before use
  • Colour coded GREEN
  • Pack contains: Sterile flocked swab, Tube with sterile viral transport medium
  • Use for virology investigations only
  • Do not use for bacteriology or Chlamydia investigations

Notes

The expiry date is printed on each tube. This is in the format YYDDMM. In the image above, the expiry date is 1st June 2018. The other code is the batch number and can be ignored.

Label the specimen with:

  • Surname
  • Forename
  • Date of birth (not age) OR unique identity number (MRN number, NHS number)
