AHPs Day 14 October
We want to say thank you to all our Allied Health Professionals for their dedication to delivering outstanding patient care.
AHPs Day is a social movement that enables the 14 allied health professions to come together within services, organisations and regions. It is an opportunity to recognise the contribution of AHPs to patient care and population health, and a chance to get to know more about the role that these valued professionals play in our team.
The day is designed to improve awareness of the roles of the fourteen allied health professions. AHPs are now the second-largest healthcare workforce with significant opportunities to support delivery of the NHS long term plan.
- Look out for posters around both hospitals that allow you to find out more about what AHPs do at our hospitals and introduce you to some of the AHPs who work for us.
There are 14 allied health professions in total, many of whom are an integral part of our team here at the Trust: chiropodists and podiatrists, dietitians, occupational therapists, operating department practitioners, orthoptists, osteopaths, paramedics, physiotherapists, prosthetists and orthoptists, radiographers, art therapists, drama therapists, music therapists, and last but by no means least, speech and language therapists. Find out more about each of them or visit our AHP careers page
There will be lots of activity through the day on Twitter, so do follow #AHPsDay all day on Monday 14 October for more insights.
