Commemorating COVID-19 at our hospitals
As part of our commemoration marking a year of COVID-19, we remembered the lives lost to the pandemic and thanked our colleagues for everything they did and continue to do.
One aspect of these reflections was the creation of a new commemorative garden at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and the improvement and redesign of the garden by pathology in Cheltenham General. We raiased money for these spaces through Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity's dandelion appeal. These permanent places of reflection were suggested by colleagues from across the Trust as a fitting way to mark the events of the past year.
The first year of the pandemic was incredibly challenging for all of us and colleagues have responded to the COVID-19 pandemic with bravery, resilience and compassion.
In addition to the garden spaces, we would like to create an artwork that commemorates all that we have lost, and indeed found over the past year. By sharing your memories with us, you can be part of this commemoration.
Your memory may recognise an individual or team or be a tribute to someone who sadly lost their life to COVID-19.
