Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
We were deeply sorry to hear of the death of Her Majesty the Queen yesterday. We offer our profound condolences to the Royal Family and to everyone for whom this news caused immense sadness.
For more than seven decades, the Queen was a consistent source of strength, across our country and worldwide, with a steadfast commitment to public service and extraordinary compassion and humility.
Earlier this year, Her Majesty awarded the George Cross to the NHS in recognition of staff's extraordinary courage, compassion, and dedication over the last 70 years, particularly in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are also aware for those colleagues who are connected to the Armed Forces, there will be a special bond and the passing of Her Majesty may be particularly poignant.
Her legacy will continue to inspire us all, and we will join with colleagues and our communities over the next few days to celebrate her life and her contribution to our society.
