Area of expertise
Dr Thompson is a General Paediatrician with a specialist interest in Paediatric Immunology and Infectious Diseases, Respiratory Medicine and is the lead for the Paediatric High Dependency Unit at Gloucester.
She completed her Undergraduate training in Medicine at Oxford University and at Guy’s, Kings and St. Thomas’ Hospitals in London, qualifying in 2001. Her Paediatric Specialist training in London and Oxford included time working at Great Ormond Street Hospital and studying for the Diplomas in Paediatric infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine and Hygiene with work abroad as part of a Medical Relief Organisation. She was appointed as a Consultant with the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2015.
Inpatient/outpatient service
Clinics are held in Gloucester, Cheltenham and Cirencester and include quarterly joint clinics with the Bristol Paediatric Infectious and Immunology Team Specialists.
