Acute Care Unit, Cheltenham (ACUC)
ACUC provides rapid assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients with urgent medical conditions.
ACUC is a 24 bedded unit, which aims to assess and either discharge or transfer patients to a more specialised area. ACUC also cares for patients in the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit, which provides specialist care for patients who have suffered a stroke.
We see a complex mix of patients and our multi-professional team is able to provide close observation and expert care.
Going home
Following your stay in ACUC, you may be:
- admitted to a specialist ward
- transferred for further care elsewhere
- discharged home
The team responsible for your care while you’re on ACUC will be able to discuss this with you.
Location
ACUC is located on the 2nd floor at Cheltenham General Hospital, it is best accessed via the college road entrance than by lift or stairs.
