About
Here at Gloucestershire NHS Foundation Trust, the Bariatric unit is located at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. Patients from Hereford and Swindon must have completed Specialist Weight Management (SWMS) treatment. All patients considering bariatric surgery will need to be referred and attend an assessment with either the SWMS or the Bariatric (Weight Loss) Surgical Team at Trust, the Bariatric unit is located at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
We offer a full complement of bariatric procedures and a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach. The team comprises surgeons, bariatric aestheticists, consultant obesity physician/endocrinologist, specialist dietitians, nurse specialists, psychologists and our bariatric coordinator. The team works closely together and will all be involved in your care.
Weight loss surgery is a tool to support weight loss and improve your health. We will provide follow-up support for two years after surgery to help you make changes to your diet and lifestyle to get the most benefit from your operation.
